This is a three-day course covering all aspects of surveying premises for cross-connections. It includes an actual on-site survey (if available), where participants learn how to recognize and report cross-connections, the legal aspects, and the responsibilities of all parties concerned.

Backflow Prevention Valve testing and repairing Course.

This course covers the testing, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of Backflow Prevention Valves. It includes how to install Backflow Valves to the relevant standards and codes.

Gauge/Test Kit Calibration.

What is Backflow?

Australia/New Zealand Standard defines Backflow as-

  1. Flow in a direction contrary to the normal or intended direction of flow.
  2. The unintended flow of water or other liquids from a potentially polluted source into the potable water supply.

Anywhere potable water is used
How Does it Happen?

Any liquid has the potential to flow backwards given the right conditions.

CROSS-CONNECTIONS are direct or indirect physical connections of potable water and polluted water or liquids.

BACKSIPHONAGE occurs when water flows backwards due to a drop in pressure

BACKPRESSURE occurs when the outlet pressure is greater than the supply pressure.
